I was lucky to be present the day Victor was born, in Paris. So I was one of the first people to photograph him after his parents.
Victor is one of those kids who takes time to be approached. Since we did not see each other very regularly, I always found it difficult to communicate with him. Surely because I have always been afraid of becoming that boring adult, seen rarely and who wants to catch up every time he sees you. A very uninteresting old uncle.
It seems to me that photographing Victor has been my method of approach in some way. The opposite of what I usually do in photography. I watched him eat, play, disarticulate, move and cry. So I watched him growing up, by photographing him.
At the same time that I was learning with my daughter, who was born a month later than him, I was learning with Victor to observe childhood.
